Prop info

Hey guys I have a Baja 275 w/496ho I currently have a 21p revolution 4 prop that was on the boat when I bought it. The pitch is to low I'm spiking 5500 rpms. I went on mercurys prop selector and they recommended 3 props a bravo 1 22p, a rev 4 23p, and a mirage 23p. What prop do u think will give me the most speed/ best performance I hear the 4 blades have better hole shot and handling but that the mirage is usually about 2 mph faster top speed. My boat currently runs 61 on gps at 5400rpms would love to see 65 maybe 66 if possible and get the rpms down to 5000 where they should be. Any input is greatly appreciated

My opinion is the M+'s SUCK stock.

The Mirage Plus 23p is a good prop for your boat AFTER it's been labbed at Bblades. Brett knows our boats and his double cup reciepe is the ticket for overall preformance. Night and day from how it works out of the box.

+1

When Mercury went from the Mirage to the Mirage Plus we saw a huge gain. I never saw that much gain in Labbing (thinning) a three blade prop anyway, but I can see where double cupping would work very well on one.

I have experienced nothing but &$^# from a 23P Mirage Plus on my H2X. Slips at throttle up, slips when I turn, blows out at any speed. I can't trim the drive up at all...gotta keep it stuffed down. I can't lift the bow out of the water...total POO POO.

I moved to a 24P Bravo 4 blade and I'll never go back.

I used a friends labbed 25 Mirage last summer and found I couldn't spin it quite as fast as I woud like. It was better than the 23, but still didn't bite as well as the 24. As loose as my H2X is in the water, the 3 blade props don't work well for me.

A friend experienced the same issues with the 3 blade prop on his 275...switched to the 4 blade Bravo and loves it dearly. Give it a try if you can get your hands on one to test.

Loss of top end? I can't say for sure as the 3 blade prop performed so poorly on my boat, I couldn't get a good top end run to save my life.

Had the 3-blade Mirage Plus 23p on the '05 275... ran over 900 hours with it. Just had to make sure it was properly cupped (it would slip if it wasn't). Got right up to its top end with no problems.
