Baja 27 Shooter and 272 hull design

Can someone tell me if the hull on a 27 shooter is the same as used on the 272 and 275 Baja?

Pretty sure they are identical. XT will chime in and set us straight.

as above - 272 and Shooter the same hull - different deck. Used to have a Shooter - fun boat. Not the fastest hull but was well mannered. :drink:

Exact same hull as said with different topdeck. 272 was next generation and then the 275 was a completely different design.

OK, the Shooter was the first one designed in 93' followed by a new deck design that included the windshield as standard. (272) Believe it or not, many 272's outran Shooters for some reason! I think the clean break of the airflow over the deck with a windshield was better than the rounded shapes in front of the cockpit on the shooter. Another possibility is the Shooter had a standard "X" dim that was 1/2" (higher) than we did the 272's. Back then we were still running non-cupped Mirage props though. The 275 was in-fact still produced from the same (3) production HULL molds that produced Shooters, and 272's. Even much of the stringer design in the 275 was the same as the 272, and forward V-birth design was still identical. Only the 275 deck was a totally new design.

The only (totally) new designed version was the 278 in 2008 that shared the 26 Outlaw fiberglass liner system.

Is Checkmate producing the 275 or 278 hull?

The 275 with wood stringers!

Checkmate in-gel graphics are more detailed that we were allowed to design at Baja, and the lay-up is better also. You will not find a chopper gun at Checkmate. It is always funny to see the "X-Baja" guys working at Checkmate wearing their old Baja t-shirts. (myself included)
