-Found a couple pics of my 220 and 280 Baja's from years back. Bought both new, ran that 280 for 12 seasons, 900 hrs. Great rides:drink:

I guess that I went backwards in the last few years. I now have a 84' Baja 184 SS (Thumper) a 87' Baja 180 Islander, and a 86' Baja Sport 220 that are all getting makovers. The 184 SS is almost complete now and I want to post all the photos because it was a real in-depth project. Scream-N-Fly might be better place for that story, but the Sport 220 is next on the project list.

That thumper boat sure would look good with a windshield. Looks like you guys are sitting "on" it instead of "in" it.

Back when i actually enjoyed getting the boat out

Nice collection you've got going. I really liked the 220 but it would beat you when the chop got too heavy. Also bought a Sport 210 new in '87, went very well for a 350 Mag. Back in those days, they held their value extremely well, when we traded the 210 and later the 220, we got more than we paid new! Kept that 280 here in Maine for 12 seasons:drink:

That 280 was a sweet ride Kurt! I remember seeing that boat at the docks in Harrison quite often. Visiting the Caswell I presume?:drink:

Nice rides. Love the 280.

I guess I was a Baja guy too! Here's some shots of our 280 back in the late 80's (the kid in the boat is ME  )
We had several Baja's when I was young, I remember going to the factory in Bucyrus when the red boat was being built. Cool memories. |

The only complaints I have with mine is how large the load is on my trailer and my piss poor fuel consumption. On the other hand, I love the size of my cockpit and the headroom in my salon. I guess it's a give and take world, to get what you like sometimes you take a little of what you dislike on the same plate. See ya, Kelly |
