BAJA logo

1 Attachment(s)
am going to have a Baja logo cut out of a piece brushed stainless steel. I am thinking it will be 31.2X10.5X 1/8 to fit under the back seat. I want it to cover my 10" subs. It will look like this. I am checking with the guy that can water jet it for me on price. I am guessing about $100. If anyone interested in one let me know.
Thanks Steve

That looks sharp, But the $100 is really low, or is that for the WJ only?

I am still waiting for the quote from the water jet. If I can get enough interest to buy a sheet of material at a time.

Why not use something along the lines of 1/32"? 1/8" is way more than needed.

LED back lighting would look really cool.

I would be interested, looks awesome! Could even powder coat if you wanted a special colour

Yep take a piece of plexi and sand it so it looks frosted. Mount the logo to it and place LED's on the edge of the plexi. Will glow real nice.

I'll make you boys all of those you want for $100 each!! I own a fab shop and have 3 lasers that cut material. Just FYI waterjetting is the slowest form of freecutting you can do and therefore the people cutting get to charge$$ because of the time involved. Waterjets shine in material over 1" thick were the limitations of laser cutting stops. Waterjetting thin sheet metal is not advised because of expense. And it you are just making covers i'd cut from a thinner stainless like a 18(.048") or 16 ga(.060") since you do not need strength and it is just for cosmetic purpose. The thicker you go the more weight it is and stainless is priced per pound so you are paying for weight you don't need and adding dead weight to your boat also. Hope this helps.

If you can have a laser do it faster why are you charging the same money?

Dude someone could have used a router on that panel over the subs. Looks like a blind person with a jig saw went to town on it.....

Just bustin balls :)

HAHA! actually the holes are perfect its when I tried pulling the vinyl over the round hole is what makes it look like a short bus kid job. I had no idea how to make it tight.. Once the speaker grills are mounted you can`t tell but I`d like to replace that piece anyway.

Another thing is you need to get 3 of the same sub. Different subs are hurting the output at certain freq, I gaaruntee....

sorry for the delay, I had knee surgery last week and am just now getting on my feet. Send me your dimensions and I'll get you a price. you can email me at work
[email protected] if you can sketch it and scan it then email sketch that would work best just so there is no confusion on dimension placement. measure your circle cutout from overall length and width to each center of the holes then also give my the diameter cutouts you want. also whether you want mirrored stainless or regular stainless. Mirrored is more expensive but does look good, at least until someone scratches it:) regular 2B finish is kind of a duller shiny but will still look good in sun and usually you can buff out scratches on it. mirrored won't buff out if you get scratches you'll notice where you try to polish it.

think you may have missed the sarcasim in my post, meaning yes id make those all day for $100 but then explaining that yes a laser will cut faster so it will probably be cheaper than what he was thinking. Although the more CAD work a person wants meaning any logos or customized cutouts, wording or design would definitely increase the time and hence cost. Sorry for not clearly explaining what I meant. It will also make a difference if someone is wanting mirrored stainless as apposed to regular commercial grade finish of 2B. Mirrored even though more expensive is also much harder to get scratches out of if someone ever scratches it.
Thanks
