342 vacuflush pump??
Looking for the pump. Took floor panels up and found holding tank, but no pump, took bottom cover of toilet and nothing.....where is the pump that builds the vacume? It comes on builds pressure, and it flushed once, but never comes back on... Thing it's the vacume switch not telling it to come back ok. But can not find the pump.

Main, labratory, and water all on Thats what its supposed to do. It builds up pressure so its ready to go. You step on the pedal SWOOSH - it sucks it all down and builds up line suction for the next turd. It doesnt continuously run. |
I know how vacufluch works man. Ha
It builds vacum, I flush, and that's it I can not get it to build vacume again. Pretty sure the vacume switch needs replacing but can't find the pump it's not on the hding tank |
Come on, noone had to find the pump?
|
You can't hear the pump running when it does cycle at 1st to get an idea of location....follow the hose? Does it just cycle once when powered on, then no more, even if switched off/on with the pedal held down?
Either way, got be between the crapper and the bucket. Being a maintenance item, should be somewhat accessible. |
Mine magically gets macerated and goes out the bottom of the boat:) Props to the previous owner!!:gfight:

I assume not when on KY or TN lakes, right? ;)

Well I looked more today and then only place between the 2 is under the driver fot rest... and it has bolts to remover, but looks like its also sealed in place by a bead of 52000... that sure would suck to remove to get to it.
It comeon once, and then it will not come on again. I tried tracing the sound... to no avail. even if i cycle the power it does not come on again. but after a few days of not ont he boat i can turn it on and get one cyccle out of it. |

You can get to the foot rest thru the access panel under the dash - but there isnt anything in there. You can see down in there if you put your head thru the dash access panel and look down. Mine are drilled for speakers so they are easily accessible. |
I have all ready removed both floor panels. Said that in first post.
Under driver side nothing but tank, no electrical.. Passenger side has freshwater tank, pump, bladder, filter. |
Never seen a vacu pump located inside holding tank. That'd be a crappy job to work on for maintaince.
Doubt the sealer is 5200. More likely a silicone. Gotta be before the tank, so the location is very limited. |
its not just silicone its hard.

FOUND IT! for others down the road looking for this mystic creature.
You look inside the cabin step, and in the carpet will be 3 screws, you can then remove the whole step from the cabin giving you access to the area forward of the fuel tank in the middle of the boat but under the cockpit deck. (between the 2 access panels.) its just sitting there for you. now for a new vacuum switch. |

My freshwater pump, filter and accumulator/bladder is all under the passenger side panel. infront of the fresh water tank.
also for info reasons it a Vacuum Generator II (VG2). the vacuum switch is mart number 310540.. link to system and parts diagram. http://www.environmentalmarine.com/v...eatured&page=1 |

Again, for information purposes. I am responding to my own thread.
Took the whole damn thing apart yesterday chasing problem. From the toilet, it goes to through the wall and makes an instant right hand turn in a clear 90 degree connection. Then about 2 .5 feet of hose to the vacuum pump input pipe. This pipe is about a foot long with a 90 degree at the top where it connect to the hose coming from toilet. This pipe slides in a rubber seal in the tank, and can move up and down. a hose clamp keeps it from dropping to far down making the pipe seal against the bottom of this tank. waste goes from left to right in the vacuum tank. There is a hard pick up tub running from the back of this output seal to the bottom of the tank. Then the out put seal from the tank to the pump has 2 o-rings.. (These can come out and not fit back right causing leaks.) In the connection from the tank to the pump there is 2 duck bill valves... then the pump, and on the left hand side of the pump there is 2 more duck bill valves in the pips making the connection to the hose running to the holding tank..... The electronic switch is mounted above the out put seal from the vacuum tank. as it build a vacuum it pulls a spring loaded rod inside the tank with its vacuum, this rod is on a push button switch. once it reaches desired vacuum it turn off. you flush/or it leaks a little and that rod moves out and hits the switch. this rod has some adjustment to it for changing how much vacuum you like on the toilet it self. if the input tub slides down to close to the bottom of the vacuum tank waste/paper what ever can not leave that pipe, and will clogg... MINE was SOLID.... |
Was there any success in this project, I have a 342 with vac-u-flush and i can see the tank, the plunger housing and the motor on the other side of that. its hard to tell if the red wire is disconnected and it looks like someone else has disrupted the housing for the vac switch. is this unit accessible if i figure out how to remove the bolster and floor on the drivers side?
