Default Looking to buy Baja Islander 23+

I am looking to purchase a Baja Islander, at least 23'. I am looking to spend around 20K. I almost bought a 1997 232(240hrs) for $18500 and it was sold right from under me. I have also seen a 1994 272(550hrs) for $17000. I'm a little scared of the 1994 and the amount of hours. I'm looking for a open bow able to carry around 8 people. I am open to 232/242/247/252/272. Are there certain years that are problematic? I have heard some of the older Bajas have stringer issues. I'm not a huge fan of the pink and purple Baja is "famous" for I am from Cincinnati, so the inventory around here is very minimal. I am willing to drive to pick up for the right boat. Any suggestions of boats that match what I am looking for, please let me know. Thank you

Your pretty much in the epicenter of Baja country. There's hundreds of them on Columbus Cincinnati and Cleveland craigslist.

PM Navy252. He has a 252 Islander for sale in Mississippi. He just bought a 29 so I'm sure he is interested in selling.

Dated graphics can be covered with a wrap, so don't let that scare you aware from a purchase. Be concerned with maintenance and upkeep. There are many Bajas made in your preferred size, you will find one eventually.
