Replacement Gas Spring for cabin hatch
I'm looking for replacement gas springs for my 2000 302 cabin hatch's. My old ones say Hydro-Lift 2053IP 0000N 265/97 on them. Anyone know what what ones will fit it, or what pressure they should be. Not having any luck on tracking this number and model down.

Measure your over all length and stroke. then see the table in the link above. These are the best ones I've found. They're cheap too. |
I have got some picked out by measuring them, but the main problem is how many pounds do I need. Can't seem to find any info on the ones on it about the pressure. The 0000N number is suppose to be what pressure they are, but of course this number is blank.

Mine are 60# on the 272. I'd think you need at least that...aren't the 302 hatches a little larger than mine?
I'd say get the heaviest ones offered, what's it gonna hurt? 60# has to be overkill for my small hatches, but again these have lasted twice as long as others I've had over the years. |
I think they are around the same size hatch! I just dont want to get to big of one and put more force on the hinges and screws that mount the hatch, when I push and pull it closed. Sounds like 60 may be the trick, or around that ball park

Search my older posts. I posted pictures of drilling through the shafts and using small hitch pins to hold them open. Always works and locks them open....
