Trailer trim limit

Any adjustment for this? Trim limit switch seems to be only for boat trim maximum up/out.

With sender and limit switches adjusted correctly, my trim gauge's upper limit is the right point for trailering, but I have to let go of the switch to avoid having the bell housing contact the gimbal U-bolt.

Just curious.....

You will need some trim spacers installed into your trim ram cylinders...they are 1/2" spacers you can buy from mercury or from volvo... I hear the volvo ones are better... Incidentally, your trim limit will also limit your drive height in trailer mode, but you may lose some of your trim capability running in the water

The only thing the trim limit switch does is limit drive trim.
( the range when the drive is operating within the gimbal ring flanges)

There isnt any cutout once you depress the trailer button.

As already mentioned, spacers inside the trim cylinders
are the only thing you can add to limit the movement.

Mechanical stops only then, I wasn't sure. I guess I could always fab a nice lil' bumper to attach to the U-Bolt (replacing the plate, etc.). Maybe somebody already makes such a thing.

It's not that critical, especially if I raise the drive with the ignition on (trim gauge will indicate), but if someone else does it for me or I forget, it could hit.
