Where do you live?... my 2 cents.. If you are wanting more power this is a great time to make that happen..you could drop a 454 Mag in there with no prob..or even a 502 for that matter..would plug right in like it was built that way. Or, you can rebuild what you have. To really get a better idea of what a rebuild price would be..the motor needs to be torn down to see what extent the damage really is. If it is simply a spun main bearing, you could get out fairly cheap if you do the rebuild smart. If the damage goes beyond that and you need some valve work done, then the price can climb pretty quick. You could also look into a short block or long block, again depending on the condition of your heads and valves. But if you like the boat and you have the money, do it the right way this time, and you will have many years of boating without issues, plus you will know exactly what you have!

I'm in Cincinnati Ohio. I'm looking hard to find a replacement engine to get on the water ASAP any recommendations on suppliers of complete drop in engines?

There were a couple of guys in 'Nati that had 502's that looked to be in good shape. I can't find the ads now tho. If I come up with 'em, I'll send them your way.

Don't know if his ad expired or something, but guy's contact info from another site is 'Nishwitz Enterprises LlC Phone 937.239.2604'. He's got a freshly rebuilt 502 zero hours with exhaust. And I think he's in your town.
