Wiring and fuel pump question...
1 Attachment(s)
Recently acquired a Baja 272 Boss.. Replaced starter and she cranks and will run on starting fluid. Has 502 MPI. Being she is fuel injected, I would assume an electronic fuel pump. However, I don't hear one running when I turn on key. If anyone knows if this is electric or mechanical I would appreciate any advice.
Second issue is a wire that was cut from harness and connected directly to the battery. It is a 12 ga orange wire. There is a switch at the helm that lights up when this is connected (button is broke off so I am not sure what it is) but since it is wired direct, it stays on even when Perko battery switch is in off position. I am going to hook it back up like it should be, just wondering what it is if anyone knows. Also in "wanted" section I have a post seeking a reset breaker for my Corsa silent choice. It is missing. Thanks in advance! Dustin |

Sorry for incomplete info...
1998 Baja 272 Boss. 502 MPI. Thanks! |
Friend of mine has the same set up, and the mechanical fuel pump runs off the back side of the sea pump
VST system |
Thanks a lot! Will change filter/seperator look for a shutoff and test fuel pressure. Have a noid light set and will see if injectors are firing...

I have the reset breaker for the Corsa system. I'm a little hesitant to sell since they're almost impossible to find anymore. A couple of years ago I bought a whole new harness for almost $250. Turned out to be a ground issue, not with my existing harness.
It says CDM-20 on it. See if you can find one. If not and you get desperate, I'll consider parting with it. I'll post a couple of pics of it tomorrow. Here's a wiring diagram for the setup you should have. |
my 1998 272 has the cool fuel system electric pump in a black plastic box on the port side of the engine by the motor mount
