20 outlaw or hammer
 

I am looking for info on these two models of boats. I mostly cruse at 20-25 mph. I am sure they would be a huge up grade in ride quality from our 18 ft crownline. the main reason for looking for a new to me boat is, to have a small sleeping spot for our 2 year old. Storage is a issue we rent a spot at my friends barn that is 25 ft deep by 15 ft wide so if anyone could give me the length of these two models from the toung of the trailer to the prop that would be great.

I have owned both boats, a 98 hammer and 2008 20 outlaw, I can't seem to remember the total length of the hammer on trailer, but my 20 OL was about 23 feet. I did have a Phoenix brake-a-way trailer arm, when folded it took away about two feet. Unless you build a bed in the 20, there is nowhere for the little one to sleep. If you do go with the 20 OL I would get a sunbrella and have your child sleep on the bench seat. To hot underneath, mine would sleep on the bench all the time.

A few quick searches on this forum will answer any and all questions about the Hammers. I never had to post anything, when looking for mine. I was able to find a lot of very useful information/knowledge from here.

I also used bajaboatowners.com a little bit. It's not the best forum in the world, but it's also got some good Baja info. Overall in my search, this forum was the most helpful.

Now, on to answer a few of your questions. The overall length will depend on what kind of trailer the Hammer is on. The boat itself is 21.5' (not including the outdrive).

I too compared the 20 OL to the Hammer. The problem I found was finding a Hammer that was in decent condition (because most are older). That was why I started looking at the 20 OLs. They were newer and in better condition. In the end I discovered the Hammer was "real" Baja, where as the 20 OL was a very stripped down "normal" boat. I would have loved to had been able to go bigger, but right now the Hammer was what I could afford.

I also tried to find a H2X, but couldn't find one with the right motor, or it was to far away, or it was a POS. I love the Hammer I found and it'll do for now. As most people, I plan to upgrade (AKA: going bigger) after a few seasons (or sooner).

is that with the drive all the way up and centered or down and off to one side. thank you for measuring yours.

That's with the drive all the way up,I had to make sure my garage is 28.5ft deep.

I recently took this boat in on trade. I was told it was a rare color? Does anybody know this to be true? I hate to make claims that are not correct. Thanks!

I would rather have the hammer, but you'll need a little more than 25 feet to store it.

It's rare on both the Hammers and 20s.
