|
Yes 25 is too much, yes try 23 or 21
|
thats what i was thinking max rpm is like 4600 ....thinking like a 3 blade 23 and maybe a 4 blade 21 or something like that...
|
My buddy has a 29 Outlaw with 502's. He runs 23P Mirage plus. Its runs quite well.
|
4 blade 22" for hole shot, mid range and carrying a heavy load. 3 blade 23" for top end.

A friend of mine had a 29 with twin 310's, he ran 23's but they had to be tuned in, your current props are waaay too tall, Smitty (his 29 ran bewtteen 59-61 most of the time)

Thanks everyone for the info...thinking im going with the 23 pitch....but not sure about the in and out ..can someone fill me in or have a pic....thanks

I wouldn't worry about messing with spinning them in with your setup. I tried on both a 302 and a 29OL with 7.4s. Not much difference. If you want to try it, just flip the props and forward becomes reverse. Both boats would run 62ish on GPS with 23 3s and 59ish with 22P 4s. Both 1999s.
I currently have 23s on my 342 (502s) and I bump the rev limiters right around 70MPH (perfect light conditions). Bought some 25s, but haven't gotten around to trying them yet. |
I have a 302 (29OL with a molded swim platform) that also has those engines. I originally had 23p Mirage Plus. Ran well on top, but porpoised like crazy in the middle. Very uncomfortable ride. Decided four blades are for me. I tried a buddy's set of 28p Bravo 1's. I'm spinning 4000 at 59mph with those. I got a set of 30p labbed Bravo 1's that I spin to 4200rpm at 60mph flat. Those props are definitely slipping like crazy on the top end. Can be challenging to plane off in heavier water too. I'd like to try untouched 24p and 26p Bravo 1's to see how it runs. Any chance somebody in Chicago wants to lend me a set to try out?
:hijack: And My48, if you're close you can borrow my 23p Mirage Plus's to try 'em out! |
