Got them from coastal night lights 190 a piece for the larger ones and 90 for the smaller one above the transom. I'm going to need to move the smaller one above the transom not sure what I was thinking as they need to bee under the water for cooling the pictures don't do them any justice they are very bright and the water here in Cincinnati is very dirt and they really light it up

Great Thanks! Appreciate the info!

Just for a lark, I took a 3 foot length of those cheapy Asian LED strips and put it in a bucket of water last nite, I hooked it up to a 12V power supply, just checked a few mins ago [about 18 hours of submersion] and they are working fine, I am gonna take them out, let them dry out and then put them back in [to kinda simulate spending a weekend in the water, then sitting on a trailer for a few days/week]

So far they "seem" fine, so, I cant see why you couldn't use them for trim tab lighting? I just need to find a place that sells "C" channel small enough to hold them, I was trying to think of something made of plastic that would work, but, have had no luck so far.

I dont think they are bright enough to take the place of "regular" underwater lights, but, for trim tabs, live wells or even in an aquarium they would be fine, dirt cheap too, heck even if you only got a season or two out of them, for $10 they are pretty much disposable.

My next project is to mount one of the 5 metre [16 ft] ones on the "under" side of my swim platform shining down into the water and see what it looks like. My swim platform isn't the tubular style, so, I am hoping the solid swim platform will reflect the light down into the water and make the platform look like its "floating" over the water, well, OK, actually I guess IT IS! floating above the water, but, you get what I mean, LOL

Here's a couple pics..... pictures are lousy, and it wasn't nearly as dark out as the pictures show. I guess I gotta figure out the camera's night setting or whatever. These pics are at the marina, and one on plane which didn't come out well.

I do know that when on plane, they lit up the entire wake behind the boat, a good 25 feet or so. My buddy who we met up with later says it looks like a dragon going across the lake with the docking lights on at the same time..... lol

I'll try to get decent pics next time. All in all, much brighter than I expected. The effect looks pretty cool.
