Trim limiter switch question

Where should the throttle trim switch be limited to? On my h2x the throttle switch allows me to raise the trim to 3/4 up and the trailer switch takes it the rest of the way. I was under the impression the trim should be limited much lower

Thanks
Larry

My set up is the opposite on my H2X. throttle switch allows lower unit to raise 1/4 then trailer switch the remaining 3/4. My Faria trim guage actually shows a larger hash mark to wear the throttle switch is set too.... factory Faria guage?

Could the switch be hooked up wrong or is the limiter switch shot?

Definitely doesn't sound right. Should only come up 30% or so. Adjust the limit switch (and sender) per the Merc manual, then check it.

Merc's spec is 21.75" between the center of the
trim cylinder anchor pin( pin on gimbal) and the cylinder ram pin (pin that goes through the drive)

That's the approx. distance where it should cut out.

^^^^ yep, pin to pin 21 3/4" on the cylinder. I just installed a new one.

The trim switch on my throttle allows me to raise my drive ALL the way, no need for the trailer switch, i know this isn't right, but i just bought the boat this year and have been to busy enjoying it, where is the limit switch/sending unit located so that i can take a look at it this winter?

They're two small pucks located on either side of your gimbal ring. One's limit, the other is the gauge sender.

Until you fix it, ensure you don't run high speed with your U-joint angle outside of the normal trim range.

come to find out i have the HP gimbal so the limit switch can't be used, thats why i have mechanical indicator, to bad the cable on it sucks! Will put a new cable in this winter, thanks for the info.
