How fast can you tow a Sea-Doo?

Funny question..... But thinking of getting a Sea-Doo again to bring out with us. Just wondering, can you go 40 mph or so towing one? I assume you could because the water right behind a planing boat is very flat......

Any issues?

Why not just have someone ride it out to where you're going (seems the safer bet).

I think on the newer Sea Doos that you have to squeeze one of the hoses off if you are towing it because it will flow water somewhere you dont want it, but I can't remember the specifics.

You need to plug or pinch off the water intake like from the pump to the head.

If you don't, the water can flow to the exhaust, fill the water box, and then flow back into the engine. NOT GOOD.

As long as you pinch or block this line, you can tow it as fast as the bow eye will hold, and/or as fast as you want it to smack into the back of your boat when some idiot on another PWC cuts you off.

On ALL jetski's... yamaha, sea doo, polaris, kawasaki, ect... that have a jet pump, pressure induced cooling system must pinch off the water inlet line. If you do not, you will fill the exhaust then casuing the motor to fill up with water.

Yes, the pinch-off is no problem. But has anyone towed them while on plane, any issues?

As long as it's smooth water it is fine. I was towing one in rough water and it went up and then nosed in, it was not pretty, you find the weakest link. :lolhit:
