i have a 1988baja the drive low in the water . i want to no who has put one on there boat and will it really help???

Yes it will help for sure..I have a 88 240 with the x demnsion raised 3.5 inches..picked up mph forsure..You will have to run a 4 blade prop, cause it will blow out in turns and wont hook up when getting on plane..
