Boomer,

You piqued my curiosity, check this out. I even verified proportion. I don't know what scale this is, but the two are exactly proportional.

i take it if the top one is a 33 and bottom a 36. i took a good look and the cockpit in the 33 looks slightly larger in the photos and the cabin area looks longer on the 36. would love to hear from someone thats got time on both.

Correct, and you're right...If I'm not mistaken the 33's cockpit does look bigger(shallower engine compartment). The 33's I've seen in person verify this, there's a lot of room between the bench and the bolsters!

The cockpit room is about the same on both from what I have been told and seen. They both can be ordered with the four standup bolster option (make them look like a bus in my opinion).

One of the first comments I hear when people get on our boat for the first time is how much room there is in the cockpit.

Personally I would like to see less cockpit room and more engine compartment room. The best move I think Baja could make would be to take 8 to 10 inches out of the cockpit and make a very nice step in area into the engine compartment where you could easily stand or sit in there to work.

When I asked Baja about this, their comment is that MOST people spend more time in the cockpit than in the engine compartment. And that the majority of people leave the service to the dealer and are NOT concerned about the engine compartment room.

So, up to the console, I believe the two boats are VERY similar. From what I have seen, the galley area is a little larger(longer) in the 36, the benchs are a little longer and the birth may also be a little longer.

I know Jawbreaker has a 33, maybe he could take some measurments and I will take some and we can put this to bed.

1) Length of sunpad over engine.
2) From Head rest on back bench (sunpad) to plastic windshield in center of boat.
3) From entry of cuddy to end of galley.
4) length of bench
5) length of birth

I will check these this weekend and post Monday.

Thanks Mark

Take a look at a '98 brochure. The sundeck/engine room is huge on the 36'. Looks awesome. I think they should split the difference. The current sun deck doesn't look any bigger than my 25'. I agree, the four bolster option is silly. But I don't think I will ever have to worry about buying either boat. Any news on the new 30'?

Sacandaga,

Your not looking at buying the 33 or 36 because I heard you are buying the 40!!!

Where were you on Sunday, it seemed it was Baja day down at the Dam. Diane and I would like to hook back up with you this weekend. Let me know if and where you might be this weekend. I hope to be out by mid-morning on Saturday.
