95 32 caliber??? not much info online about these??

I called about this boat today!!

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o47105-en.html

I also found last owner who did all the work.. his wife drinks Cabo Wabo tequila..

How are these boats??other efi supposed to have been rebilt 100 hrs ago also. Prev owner said runs 70 which seems to be doable from other post I have found. He also said hull, transom, floor etc had no soft spots or rot. Since he doesn't have any more, I would assume he was honest. He had for about 6 years.

Comparison coming out of a 25 ol? Would expect huge did!?

XT?? Your thoughts? Thanks

XT-Innovator 10-08-2012 08:35 PM

I like the graphic wrap design, but to bad Cabo Wabo can not be removed from it. Who ever the guy had redo the interior did a pretty good job on it knowing how hard the Baja Aero bolsters are to do right and the custom headrests on the lid were done nice. Painted all the hardware to match, and the 454 MPI's are one of my favorite power choices.

The 32 hull is a all time great one for Baja and it was not modified much to create the 33 Outlaw model. Not sure if you will be happy going back 4-5 years depending on your 25ol model year....

Biggest thing is the moisture issue. I would inspect it yourself if possible, or hire it done with someone that has a moisture meter and skill to tap test everything. Do things like pulling the table base in the cabin and feeling the bottom side of the flooring for wetness. Look for water lines in the engine compartment if it was ever full of water. Ask where it was mainly stored (inside or under canvas)? Maybe it is a good "Barn Find" boat, you never know until you look into it closely.

Thanks XT for the info.. here is the ad from the orig owner.. claims lift in summer and hewted storage in winter which should be a good "barn" find. I figure there are only 3 itemson my checklist.. motors, interior and hull. 1 and 2 seem good, but 3rd would need eyes on..

Also, I do have concern about the looks from my 99 outlaw but considering price and condition to step up and the increased use I could get with my 4 and 7 year old in a smoother ride with play room in cockpit really have me considering this!

As far as the Baja straight hulls go, I like this one. Reliable turn key power, big cockpit, comfortable cabin, and I've seen plenty of Formula 311's going for more money with carbed motors, trs drives, and smaller cockpits. Get a survey obviously, but if it comes back decent, negotiate a little and come away with a great looking, and running boat. Just my $.02

The dealer has a shaft dyno to check the engines out, they also said they would put a moisture reader to the hull and will make sure all everything is in working order!!

They are also giving me a good trade in on just under what i was asking... so I am still considering, but looks good so far!! I could move up with $3k from my current boat! other than the Steel trailer... seem like a good deal!

thanks for the input!

all around good running boat. Had a 1997 with 625 per side. Ran mid 80's.

If it comes back dry, go over it yourself again.....

I'm not crazy about yellow (personal choice, too flashy) but dam looks like a nice boat at 27k$. Good' reliable power and if ecu's matches the hours , not to bad!!! Good looking hull to me :)

mptrimshop 10-09-2012 07:23 PM

From what I have heard if you want that boat to look nice your going to need to replace the wrap. I talked to someone who went to look at the boat...

turbo rr 10-09-2012 08:15 PM

If it checks out seems like alot of boat for the $.

Definitely going to hurt some knuckles in person all over!

@92nsx it is a bit flashy but would eventually rewrap with toned down yellow but yellow interior is growing on me..

Grew up on my dads checkmate, I was not a baja lover.

Found a deal on a 272 which gave me respect for baja.

Bought a 94 32 caliber and Fell IN Love with Baja. Wish I still had that boat just for fun. That boat made me proud to own a Baja.

Buy it, you will love it!

He is a member on here... Not sure of his screen name I will shoot him a text and have him PM you ..or chime in here.... If I remember correctly he said the boat looked nice, just that the wrap looked bad when ya got close... Some wear and stuff on it. We were kinda drunk when we talked about it.... Sittin on the line at LOTO at the shoot out...LOL

Full Force 10-10-2012 05:21 AM

The 320 force/32 caliber hull was one of the best ever made my x baja worker friends tell me... my 320 took some abuse, alot of abuse......and it didnt sink...I cant see this newer one being much different..

fleg1 10-10-2012 10:42 AM

Mine is a lot older and I love it... Although i have restored mine ( a lot of rot ) it was worth it.. At the time I had 365 mags with raised x and boxes and it would run around 66-68 so I would think the boat in question stock is only going to run about 65 or so with the efi mags.. but still not to bad.. You cant beat the boat as far as room and comfort in the cockpit as long as it doesnt have the quad bolsters, and the cabin is plenty roomy enough for a family of 4.. Good Luck!!!!

Smitty 10-10-2012 04:41 PM

That boat is a 40 minute ride from me. Let me know if you need some close up eyes on it. I also think I know a guy there.

Guys, thanks for the replies, just waiting on my ins quote to come back and proceed!! Bank require a survey, so i will call GSC in am once I get my quote and make a list for everything! Shaft dyno, etc

Smitty thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that if i run into anything strange.

I was worried about the older Baja, but it grew on me and this is a good deal to step up for free, basically. W/trade!

Then plan on the 2,000 round trip towing trade up and new Baja back!

Funny thing is that I bought my 25 from shogren a few miles away from this place!! Now I will probably bringing it back!!

nailit 10-11-2012 03:50 PM

NICE!!

Grand Sport center came back today on a few issues.
Would fix most.. steering tight, shifter tight and impellor housing cracked.

BUT!! They also came back and degraded my original trade by $2000!!!
They also do not have documentation of the engine rebuild so worst case, the EFI motor has 500 hours. Evidently, the wife ended up with boat in divorce! It is on consignment, found that out today as he was telling the other made a mistake.

Doesn't look good!

Bummer. I wonder if the Cabo Wabo tequila had anything to do with the divorce? Better to discover these issues before you drive across the country like I did.

OffshoreEx, that is one very nice, clean looking Baja.

Never got to it, I called to seal deal and they devalued my trade and cant get any rebuild info on the efi engine. My next step was to survey... they are still trying to contact owner for documents for rebuild. Not looking good and I will not buy if it has over 500 hrs on original engine. MP I supposed to be 2000 model

offshorexcursion 10-19-2012 09:34 PM

Just keep workin them down, they/wife will crack and give you a smokin deal. Remind them they don't want to sit on it all winter!

Exactly, I can probably get them down a little but need to know engine was rebuilt.
