Rural King has a flier out this week, RV antifreeze $1.99/gal after $1 store rebate.
Same AF brand as Menards and most others carry.

Be aware of cheaper anti freezes. Some of them contain ethanyol and are combustible and are not for your engine. They look the same but read the label . I was about to use it but called the manufacture and they said do not use on motor it's corrosive. They recommended there other product wich was 3$ more. Use merc oil can't go wrong spend the money. 4qt jug is 4$ cheaper.

Do you guys use RV plumbing antifreeze? Some of the labels I've read state not for engine use...... Or do they just mean as a coolant for an operational engine?

I've traditionally used regular automotive antifreeze, but I'd rather use something non-toxic, and cheaper..... But my baby needs to be safe!

Thx

Merc dealer told me that quick silver was Merc oil relabeled for non merc dealers???

Anyone know if any truth to that??

Never used it but always use merc oil in my $27kish boat.. the lack of use and how hard we run them warrants the good stuff! I don't have $5-$10k to drop in boat and value was same before new motor! Been there after reversion in last boat!!

Was told that reasoning too by my Merc dealer. I've seen the QS products at Menards and Rural King.

Merc=QS, QS=Merc Same thing

mmarineservice 11-08-2012 01:40 AM

quicksilver and mercury are the same

I bought all my antifreeze at WalMart this year. Tractor Supply Company is another place I've bought.

I usually buy my oil (Mobil1) and Lucas Oil Treatment at Advance, and they give me my military discount which is nice. Same goes for Napa on my Wix filters.
