swim platform rubber insert
:flag: Where can I find the rubber ribed tread insert for the tubular swim platform, I asked Taco Marine if they made it, and they didnt
thanks |
|
TACO Metals used to make it. I believe their part number was V12-5817BKA50; but, they don't list it any longer. West Marine used to carry it; but, they don't list it anymore either. Surely someone still carries this as I need it too.
Guess I should have bought some when I could. Mike |
ya , Im wanting the OEM stuff, mines all there just shrunk up, it fits down in the channel, I thought I saw some chit at Taco's burrito stand but didnt get it HT if you find some keep me in mind
thanks |
I wonder if XT-Innovator might either have this or know where to get it.

Good idea, I'll send Dave an email

Dave, said Taco Marine, will see if he comes up with anything else :flag:

After I had mine powder coated, I found a roll of black 3M vinyl antislip on the internet. I think it is 3/4" wide ??
I will check tomorrow in my shop to see if there is a 3M number on the roll. Smitty |

I just put one of the old style platforms on a 220 Sport and I painted the platform with Black bedliner paint. The rubber inserts had shrunk-up but I ran a bead of black silicone in the channel, then I pushed in about 8" of rubber insert and taped it in place with Duck Tape. Then I streched it across the entire span pushing it in the wet silicone and taped it in place. Even put some sealer at the ends, and it turned out great! XT |

Did you just apply over that slot? Did you fill the slot in first to keep water out? Any photos? Thanks, Mike |

Taco was the only source that I knew of that made it.

XT So did you reuse the old rubber inserts by stretching them and holding them in place with the silicone? HotTub |

My old rubber is in good shape just with shrinkage there is 1 to 3 inch gaps at the ends, you can have all my old if you pay shipping, but I'm not changing them out until this winter when I get it powder coated.
