Hey, yeah I'm sure it is a 23. Just sent it away, hope I don't run into the same problems as you did!!
 Well, let's look at it this way, I dynoed my motor so I have the exact numbers. Your 525hp sounds about right, but who knows? When I prop tested a 22 bravo 1 I had alot of walk and lower top end and I think I spun about 5600. It seems as though this 23 Rev 4 is the right prop for the job. Hoping the labbed finish will not upset the attitude of the boat. I have it dialed in really well. Try to hunt one down. Let's just assume for arguements sake you have the same power, so we can base your boat on my boat's results. The difference would be in the tq though, because no way you are making a flat tq curve like mine. You may be in luck if you cannot find a prop, I may be heading to Chicago in the next 3-4 weeks for the weekend. You can give it a spin. I would let you borrow this one via UPS, but it is the only prop I have and I run the boat every week and weekend. Later. By the way, Not sure what the tq curve looks like on that motor, but you are probably losing some power not running up to atleast 5200. With a 5300 chip however, you will bang the limiter too much and risk breaking a valve. Double think that. Ask some of the engine guys on the board to help you figure the tq (there are equations), where it peaks and how much at 5200-5400. I think you are pissing away your extra 1-2 mph by not using the extra revs. Not sure without seeing the numbers. 5200 would be about right, with a 54-55 chip is my guess. |
