29 outlaw fuel tank
 

Has anyone had a problem loosing fuel. lost about a half a tank last winter( possible theft) but it looks like I have already lost some this year. No sign of fuel from drain plug at transom . No idear where else to look.

We had a 342 one time that had a small crack in the tank and it was a nightmare to cut the floor out to replace it...thank God Baja at the time stepped up and helped make the customer happy...but you could smell the fuel....

Can you smell fuel at all? If there was any crack or (?) you'd have to have vapors settle in the cabin or bilge or something...but you'd for sure smell it especially to loose as much as you are saying you're loosing, that's a 146 gallon tank so you're talking approx 73 gallons.

the boat is completly covered I'v crawled in , no smell in cocpit or cabin also poped tank access panels in the floor front and rear and no smell there. I'm lost

I'd have to call thief OR better yet....a heavy right hand which sounds better! :evilb:

im with hossman maybe the gas gauge isnt working correctly / sticking and it takes a while for it to start reading correctly after sitting

any teenagers in the house who drive??? haha Gas is cheaper in the driveway than the gas pumps

Last year when I installed the batteries and saw the gauge down over a half tank the first thing I did was ground out the wire at the tank the gauge went to full, I then pulled the sending unit from the tank and moved the float up and down it work ok. I then checked how deep the fuel in the tank was ,4 inches ,appx 1/4 of a tank.
I don't think it was stolen, to get a hose down the filler it about 6 feet long with a couple of nasty turns . still lost
