38 special
Any body running 3 blade mirage plus 25 p props
On 38 special , checking to see how they do |
I just got a set to try on my 342. You're quite a bit heavier, but if spring ever comes I will report back.
|
They were standard issue for years,,,,,,but 4 blade Bravo 1's do a much better job
Drop a pitch in size though,,,,,meaning if your running 23 Mirage, go to a 22 Bravo |
I am running 4 balde props now 23 rev 4 ,motors are 502's that were upgraded to 520 hp last year running 4800-4900 @ 70 mpg on GPS

If you have a stock x dim, mirage props will run faster. You could get a couple of shortie drives and keep the props you have.

Mirage props do run faster than the Bravo props. As long as you can get on plane, I know many people with 38 specials running Bravo's. Best bet would be to borrow a set and try it.

I will agree with faster top end by a mile and hour or 2, but midrange the bravo 1 for me is faster at the same rpm, and 10 times better getting on plane.

I tried 25 Mirage plus on my 97 38 Special,,,,slower to plane,,,,,,horrible midrage,,,,,wouldnt carry the boat,,,,,and slower top end from the 24 Bravo 1s..
Just my experience. Even if it was faster WOT..... with everything else so negative,,,,I still wouldnt have run them. But I agree to borrow and try a set to see for yourself |
