Boatless

Bad Idea is going to Mississippi next Saturday. It's been fun & expensive. I did what I wanted to do with it, now it is time to move on to another hobby or something.
Congrats to the new owner & I hope it is as enjoyable or more for him as it was for me.

POWERPLAY J 04-03-2013 11:58 PM

Congrats on the sale. If you ever want back in I'll trade ya the Powerplay for your Bonanza. :drink:

You were one of the few that I never thought I'd see a thread like this...............but I understand, I've thought about a few times, but couldn't pull the trigger, there's nothing cheap about boating and it's work....................let us know if you're looking for something.

Congrats.

Please tell me you'll keep up the good work with TRL505 commentating the ShootOut again this year. I'd stay home from the races again this year just read the two of you going after the moderator.....

I'll have the time to do so. TRL505 may not be able to participate as he is currently undergoing foreskin regeneration to facilitate his gender reassignment surgery.

JaayTeee 04-04-2013 04:56 PM

What will you do with all that money you're going to save ?;)

Someone better notify your vendors.

BajaDan 04-05-2013 09:59 AM

A good friend of mine bought this boat. I plan on having a lot of fun on it in about two months time! If the boat is half as nice as the pictures I've seen, you did a great job on it Jason.

Dan

tbirdusa 04-05-2013 10:56 AM

Did i go with the blowers and intercoolers in place? Thought I'd seen mentioned that you'd sell it with or without the belted air cleaners.

JasonSmith 04-05-2013 12:15 PM

It has one season on it without the belt-driven aircleaners.

never enuff 04-05-2013 02:16 PM

Congat's Jason!!! At least now there will be more room at the docks-----LOL
Your friend,
Jay

They definitely got a nice boat. I definitely rolled around the idea of your boat several times. Wasn't sure if I'd be happy with the size for what I want to do. Glad I went 36. I'm sure the new owner will be very happy with it.

Hook'em 04-17-2013 11:24 AM

Bad Idea will be found running the Emerald Coast this summer. Captain Navy Josh maning the sticks. She's headed up to Virginia Beach sometime around November and will be there for a few years.

As has been said, the "good part", from a boat owners perspective, about being a US NAVY Officer is that the new orders are going to lead you to the beach somewhere. In this case it's Virginia.

I thought you handled it well Jason, considering all the blood, sweat and beers (not to mention bank) you have invested in the ole girl over the years. I didn't see you cry, but MAN you were bleeding all over the fuggin place. LMFAO. Cheers Brutha, you know where to get a ride when you "need one."

navy252 04-18-2013 01:33 PM

As the new owner of (not a) Bad Idea, the boat def went to Biloxi and can be found terrorizing fishermen on the Biloxi River, Big Lake, Back Bay and the Mississippi Sound... plenty of trips to the emerald coast are in order this summer. :) Couldnt be happier with the purchase, Jason is a class act. I know its been tough on him, but he still responds to every question and then some. And knowing him he will be tearing the water up soon.

I will be heading to the tidewater area (Virginia Beach) in November as I picked up my comission as a Naval Officer.

RollWithIt 04-18-2013 08:20 PM

Congrats on the boat and the promotion!!

I found a deal up in VA on a 98 33ol!! Has 12 hours on new mags. Full galley = tax writoff :lolhit:

Alum trailer, etc.. only thing it doesn't have is hyd steering.. vinyl is firm and feels new still.. colors were the only concerns, but it looks "ALOT" better in person.. check out tread I posted some pics..

Ran great.. walked right up with 25+s under 3k. Was kind of weird b/c it didn't climb out.. stayed level and just came out water..

nomomoney 04-23-2013 11:49 AM

Jason, congrats on the sale. Last year was my first in almost 20 years without a boat for summer. I didn't miss it at all. Now you need a grandson to keep you busy for a hobby.. :) My grandson is 15 months now and is a blast. Maybe in a few years will think about boating again.

BDiggity 04-23-2013 03:33 PM

youll have more fun taking the kiddo in to branson to catch a show, ride some gocarts, spending day @ sdc looking at fat women in shorts.

ill see if i cant get you a discount to ride the ducks to get your boat fix. :lolhit:

navy252 05-01-2013 09:14 AM

Thanks guys, promotion is huge for me. Now pay me the money!! :D

Nailit most def, ran to ship last weekend, first time out there as we usually run to horn. Thats a quite a ways out. Had a blast with the poker run. Sent ya my info.

I saw Bad Idea in Orange Beach, AL on Saturday while eating breakfast at the Cobalt (restaurant). Talked to the owner for a minute. Boat still looked good.

TW720HVY 06-24-2013 09:38 PM

Jason, I missed that you sold Bad Idea, she looked like an awesome boat, sorry I never got to see her in person. Are you boat-less or did you find something else to play with?

If you're looking at other hobbies, stay away from airplanes... if you think boating is bad just wait until your first Annual.
