25 outlaw prop question
 

I have a 04 25 outlaw with a 496 mag(not a h.o) with a full tank of fuel and a boat load of people im running 5100 rpm's and the buzzer is going off. Im spinning a 23p mirage plus. The motor is supposed to run between 4600 to 4800 rpms. I am pretty sure the motor is stock. I have had several boats but not a Baja but the research I have done says that the 23 mirage is all that motor should handle. Could the boat spin a 25P?

The 25 M+ is a beast. It will eat 4-500 RPM over the 23. Normally you'd see a 2-300 RPM drop moving "up one pitch". I don't think you've got the pony's to turn that one (slipping out of the hole). You might be better off with a Bravo 1 (four blade) 24 pitch, or have Bblades lab tune the 23. That's what I run (M+23), it's perfect. Brett is a master propsmith and can tune that prop for your boat. Difference is night and day across the board.

25P will be a bit much...when my engine was stock (496 H.O) I could spin a 24P Bravo 1 to 4800-4900 so in your case I would us a 22P Bravo 1...better all around handling than a 3B.

I had a sunsation with the same problem and wouldn't turn a 25p so I had the 23p raised one pitch and cupped it worked great got my rpm's back in range and gained 4mph on gps. It was a supper fast hull tho and a light boat. This outlaw doesn't seem to be running the speed it should to be spinning the 23 mirage at 5100 rpms. Im hitting 62 mph on gps. Im pretty sure my tach is right. Does that sound right for that boat?

On my 2004 25 Outlaw....when I still had the stock 496 HO...I would see 63 GPS with unlabbed 24P Bravo 1 prop with normal load....I think your in the ball park.

Hey if this is any help I have played with this for almost 2 years and here is what works on my07 (496 HO) is a Hydromotive 15 D 22P and that shot me up from 63 on GPS to 67.5 on GPS. Now it might need some more tweeks but the Quad 1V X seems to work really well with the hull of the Baja.
