R.I.P 97 Baja Hammer
So last Saturday I was boating on the Ohio River above Medahl Dam and must have hit something that gouged the hull. I didnt know it so my running WOT for 20 plus miles ripped a good bottom back section of the hull out. Didnt know it till I was on the trailer walked to the back and said Oh Sh*t what happened to my boat. Insurance totaled it this week. I loved the boat but am looking to step up a little bit, I am currently looking at 24ft Outlaws. Sea Ray of Louisville has one I have my eye on but I think it is priced high at 20k. Its a 95 24ft Outlaw new reman 454 mag motor, looks clean in the photos got to check out in person though. Before I waste a day driving down anyone on here have thoughts about it or possibly know anything about it. Curious why the motor was replaced?

Will an opportunity to buy it from the ins co come up?
|
Havent even asked, to me it is no good. Could I part it out? Or whats your logic 79formula?
|
I like fixing things and for the right price I would be interested in buying. Would be a good upgrade from my 18ft Formula.
|
Sorry i hijacked your thread.

What is your budget and what type of water do you boat on? If I ever downsize I want an Activator or Warlock. Some of the best handling/riding singles you will find.
Are you a Sata rep? |

I went and looked at the 24 outlaw at Sea Ray of Louisville before I bought the 1 I have now, don't waste your time! We got about 20 yds from it and I looked at my wife and said lets go. She said we drove 100 miles lets look at it so we did. All the gelcoat on the keel is ground down to the fiberglass ,scratches all down both sides, the swim platform is put on with non stainless allen head bolts(bolts rusty as sh*t) carpet is shot, I did not even look at the motor. If the motor is what they say it is than to me the boat is worth what the motor will bring minus the labor to pull it! JMO and the trailor looked like crap That's just what I saw and thought of the boat. Good luck with your search. Jason P.S. love my 24 Outlaw I moved up from a 208 Islander and the ride quality of the 24 is so much better.
