30 and 33 Outlaw owners, come inside!
I was wondering if any of the 30 Outlaws were non-liner boats or if I should just stay away. Also, could any 30 and 33 Outlaw owners give me a total length on trailer? Thanks, Chris.

The fountain built 30's were stringer construction.
My 33 is about 40' when you factor in the trailer tongue, boxes and drives. |
Was Fountain built '06 and newer? So would the 04-05's be safe?
|
My 30 Outlaw is 37'-6" from trailer tongue to back of drives. So far I have had no issues with the liner construction.

^ What year?
|
Thanks for both measurements, I guess they are pretty close.

2007 with an aluminum triple axel Load Rite trailer.

Would you say the cabins are equal on both the 30 vs. 33 and that the additional room is picked up behind the bolsters? I have been on a 33 but how much room are we talking between the bolsters and rear seat on a 30?
|
A friend had a 30 that I got to climb around. Cockpit is comparable to most larger boat cockpits. Maybe twice the room of the 25 ol. Nothing is comparable to the 33 cockpit, as you seen, you can literally have several people standing up and still walk around.
The amount your going to spend on a 30 ol, you can find can prob find a 33 with blue motors that will run with 30 with Hos. We came out of a 25 ol and almost picked up a 29ol, but room in front of bench didn't seem worth it for us. Couldn't find a 302 with options I wanted, then we found a 33 w/ new motors (12 hrs). So we hit my "must haves" with mags, alum trailer, cockpit space, bigger boat to span waves and enclosed head for emergencies for kids. We love it and its got plenty room, we even have 54 qt coolers with seat cushions that we can put behind bolsters ( using gunnel pad for backrest) and still have 25ol space in front of bench for added occupancy! 8 adults or 10 adults/kids still with room down the middle!! Hope this helps... |
33OL by far is better than the 30OL if you can find one that has what your looking for. They fixed the liner issues previous to 2008 but not by much. I'd say 04-05 liner boats I'd stay away from. Nobody is on the hook anymore for issues involving this and pretty much that was why Brunswich dumped Baja to Fountain was all the warranty claims on the liner hulls. By the time they fixed it was too late. 33OL is one of the best boats Baja built and it's a shame that mold got destroyed IMO.

Side note. Thank you guys for posting how long you over all length is with trailer!
I have been trying to decide on how long to make my shed next spring, and was thinking 36' long would be plenty..... Nope! 30-33' is about the biggest Ill ever go. Looks like Ill be adding a few more feet to the shed and go with 40' long. |
Thanks guys, looks like the 33 is the better choice.
|
I agree with the 33 being the better choice. I have a 99 33 Outlaw and I love this boat. I keep it in my 40x60 shop during the winter. The doors are on the 60' side of the shop. With that being said I have about 6" between my drives and the back wall of my shop and about 6" between the tongue of the trailer and the front door. This is with the drives in the down position. As a matter of fact last time I backed it in my shop I forgot to put my drives down. Thanks to my 9 year old daughter who was spotting me she stopped me just shy of putting the drives through the back wall. I was looking at a 36 also when I bought the 33. I am now glad I went with a 33.

It also depends if you want an old boat or a newer boat and of course $$$. We owned a 2008 30' (didn't take delivery until 4/2009 and were first owners) and put over 600 hours on it. It just sold. Not a single issue with the liner construction. Loved everything about the boat. Ran it in the Gulf all the time and many straight-line trips from Naples to Marathon. Handled great in the rough, too.

Got Room?? Look behind the co-pilots bolster. 54qt ice chest length ways (with pads for additional seating) with plenty of room for bench riders.

Take it from experience, go 50' First building was 30'. I thought I would never go over that. Then went 40', at 50' now but if I get boat I am thinking about, may have to add on again.
YOU WILL GO BIGGER lol |
I love my 33 have owned 25 29 been on 36. In my opinion it's the best they ever made. My 33 with 500's runs dead even with the dr. Holliday 36 as it is currently powered. Roughly just over 600 hp. Great ride and to s of room. Could even be for sale if you are interested let me know

If you were looking at the 33 and 35, which one would you choose.......I really like the 30's that I've looked at, but might want to go a little bigger, I think if I could find a 35 Poker Run that would be the ideal boat for me, not sure how many they made though.

I went from a 272 to the 33OL and when I saw it on the ramp in Minn. I couldnt believe how big it was or how the hell I was going to figure out how to drive it, first time for twins, three years later dont think I could be happier with the purchase, Folks on my dock are amazed that it backs into the slip so easy,

Ditto, moved from 25ol. We love our 33ol!! Plenty room, big enough to smooth out 3-4s for the kiddos and a pooper! Effecient hull! I am get 9-10 % slip!
|
Yep moved up from a 252, and when i walked up to the boat on the trailer for the first time, I though OH ****.. this may be more then i wan to trailer......few times and i dont even think about it any more. put the trailer where i want it and put the boat where i want it,.
