Looking for 232-252 Boss's or Islander's in the South East area.

I hope I don't catch a lot of flak, but I have a relatively small budget for wanting a stylish, RELIABLE, go fast boat. I'm looking for 232's - 252's, would consider 212's, around 19K.... who isn't, haha?? I thought I had a deal, but we couldn't come to terms, and his wife wants to keep it now that it's warming up. We're in North Alabama and willing do drive with cash in hand. So what's out there??

Thanks!

All work professionally done, custom stereo, solid interior, two props etc. 23k obo with trailer Title in hand. Im in the Navy and located in Va Beach but have friends that can show the boat.

Don't do the 212. Save up your $ and make sure you get one w bolsters. My 2nd boat was a 212 and although a nice boat- once you sit in some bolsters you will understand.
But then we Sit back down in the Skater so Hmmmmm.

jetskidrewski 02-20-2014 08:39 AM

I agree with 232/252 over 212. Significant difference between the two including deadrise. Bolsters is what pushed us to the 232 as the smallest Baja option as well as over any other brands. There are definitly 232's to be had for 19k or less.

hickle44 02-21-2014 06:30 PM

go with the 252.after you buy the 232 you'll wish you had.btw i have a 252 and love it

Thanks Gents!! I've found quite a few in our price range, however, they were either ROUGH or had the funky graphics... I'm being picky! I know that we will for sure stick with a 232+. Thanks for looking. Also, I'd prefer a cuddy (ol Stabbin Cabin, haha).

We've also been looking HARD at the Rinker 232's. They seem very versatile. I've got cash in hand. Let me know what pops up with good graphics, or on the Rinker side of the house!! Text or call... 256. 572.4784.

Thanks,

Cole B.

Good luck cole..... you will be cursing with us soon!

jetskidrewski 02-24-2014 06:20 AM

Here's a couple other options:

Needs motor, but good opportunity if you want to build a faster boat: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-Baja-23...wer_Motorboats

Couple 212's with decent graphics:

TTT... I've left the house to pick two boats up and they've sold while in route!!! No, the sellers wouldn't take a deposit. Looking in the 19-20K range, no funky graphics.

can't edit my original post... sucky...

BajaDawg 03-06-2014 04:33 PM

Slowbrah are you from close to Huntsville? Were you looking at a 232 in ga by chance?

SLOWBRAH 03-06-2014 09:48 PM

Yeah, I'm 30 min south of Huntsville. Which one??? I've called about EVERY Baja under 24K within a 500 mile radius... seriously. Either JUNK, SOLD while I'm going to get it, or simply out of what I'm willing to spend. I think this is stressing me out as much as my Job. Haha

Thanks a million... 27K is outta my range... I did sell my vette. So that should help in the search. Of course, I've got replace it with something similar, but cheaper if I'm getting a nice water toy. I joined that group. This will be the second weekend we haven't found a boat worth looking at. DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!

Tom272Baja 03-11-2014 09:25 PM

2 yrs ago I was in the same boat (lol) as you, I was in the search for a 232 islander in the 20k area and was not having much luck until I found a 272 islander at 18k.
I bought the 272 and to be honest I'm glad that's what I ended up with as I think the 232 would have been too small for us and I would have been searching for a bigger ride by now.
I'm happy with my 272.

There is a 96 232 on Saginaw craigslist for 9500. Looks like a great deal

He ended up picking up a clean Rinker 232 Cuddy cabin, 350 mag.

BajaDawg 03-26-2014 08:05 AM

Oh nice!

SLOWBRAH 04-09-2014 03:21 PM

Thank you all for searching for me.... I picked up a CLEAN 2005 Rinker 232. I drove 886 miles one way to Michigan... it was a great deal. It more than suits our needs. I don't currently have the "go-fast" bug. But I've got 50 out of her on medium chop. I'm sure she would do 53-54, which is just right, and easy on my wallet. I like the room I've got and the HUGE platform. It facilitates parting very well.... we will certainly test that out this weekend.
