I just saw this boat for sale, they have it listed as a SeaRay 26br but it sure looks like a 252 Islander to me, price seems pretty good.

Yes, the anchor locker, specifically the loose anchor in there worries me. A good friend got clipped in the temple by a plexiglass bow hatch when the plexi blew out of the aluminum frame during a rough spat in the ocean. It was a freak thing. I could stand and jump on that hatch without pushing it the plexi out, but this incident was not predictable. It wasn't pretty. Had that been an anchor locker door, or worse--an anchor; it probably would have killed him. A few inches lower, and the plexi would have caught his jugular and killed him too.
I'm all about mitigating risk. It's what I do for a living. |

Called the dealer,, it is a searay no doubt.. Very unigue
|
Any body know more details about this type of boat,, for sure baja backbone, did they produce it for sea ray, first impression is a baja modification to replicate a pachanga?

I tried to research it a little bit before I posted it, the only sea ray 26br I could find on google is the one for sale at parks. They are a very big dealer and know what they are talking about, I really just thought it was a mistake from the previous owner trying to make it look like a seray?

As an owner of of one I would highly recommend the 292 Islander. Great boat in rough water, tons of space, the cabin is nice to change in or for storage (never thought I needed it until I owned one, now I'm spoiled), and with the 496HO it's not bad on fuel. The hull on this boat handles extremely well, drives like an outlaw just slower on the top end. I've had a smaller bowrider and after the 292 I can say you will not be disappointed.
EDIT: I would also highly recommend Performance Boat Center. I drove from Cincinnati to Ozarks to get mine from them and I was very pleased with them, the experience, and the boat. |
