29 or 30 outlaw ??
 

any feed back would be great guys ,I am looking at purchasing a 29 or 30 outlaw, the 29 is a 2003 with twin 496 mags and the 30 outlaw has the same power but a 2004 any issues I should look for in any of them ,I was really looking at sunsation boat 32 but not too many on the Canadian side for sale and the dollar is worth sh## right now to go state side to buy one !
what kinda speed can I expect ,,,70 to 74 ??

I was in your shoes. 30 ended up winning out. Newer technology, features, handling. Check out the one in Chicago at GSC. 79mph with 496HO power.

30 has enclosed head the 29 does not if I recall correctly. That is a big plus in my opinion almost like having a bathroom vs not if you were to actually use it. High 60s to low 70s max on non HO they are heavy boats. If it were me I would look for a sunny all day over baja based on well lets see pretty much everything across the board. Baja is heavier so maybe slight advantage over ride quality in the rough.

Go 33 instead!! Great riding boat and price will be around same as a 30, if not less

72 on the 29 with mags is a good number. I just had my props labbed and haven't had it out enough to see how top speed has changed. I will say they run great cruise at 50, and are surprisingly decent on fuel. They are decent riding boats and it is perfect for what we do. Mine might be going up for sale soon.

good info guys thank you very much ,I do like the Sunny for sure ,lots to choose from out there as far as brands I guess they all have there good and bad points etc....price is also a factor ,"get what you pay for " resale is also big to consider! T RAV keep me posted if yours come up for sale in the next few weeks, we still have 4 feet of snow here yet before we even think of boating .

I would look at imartin's boat if your looking at 30's one thing I hear a complaint alot about on the 29OL is the cleat placement and the no enclosed head. Porta Pottie is under the Vberth like the smaller boats. Careful on the 1st generation 30OL's(2004) look very carefully at the liner on it. There was issues and with Baja being defunct you will have no one to go back on if it has issues.

Not all of them had issues but there were some. If you do a search or google it you will see where the common areas were. I have a friend with a 04 30 and he has never had an issue. Another friend had a 23 with the liner and it was at baja for 2 years getting redone because the liner. Irish was also correct about the placement of the rear cleats on the 29's. When you put fenders on they want to slide out because the cleats are on the back of the boat, you have to get a fender holder of some sort or tie the fender off to another boat/dock. Mushroom cleats are on my to do list.

Lot more room in 33, 3 more feet riding surface, great handling and planes easily with any load at. 2500 no tabs.

Of note, vessel's age......+1.

I have a 04 29 outlaw and i love the boat. I would agree the back cleats are a wast so i added ones on the side. Only issue I have withthe 29 and 30 outlaws is the motors are realy tight to work on.
