Reasonable asking price on my 36 outlaw?

Well an addition to the family has made me sell my baja and go with something else that is more family friendly. Am I in the ballpark? 1998 Baja 36' Outlaw Performance Boat -

Looks like a nice piece......I would delete the "trading it in next week".....while that may work with cars/trucks it doesn't translate with boats because ACV/trade value wouldn't be 1/2 of your asking price. Also consider you can get a #6 boat with 900's for a few bucks more..... I wouldn't be surprised if you could snag this for mid-60's - low 70's.

That blower boat is a beast. Guessing the cost of ownership on that thing will run you more than the boat within a 3 year period.

I can't think of a more family friendly performance boat than a 36 outlaw. Tons of room, rock solid safe ride :)

I think you're in the ball park, nice boat that I in expect would sell in the 50's

Good clean boats are getting harder to find, I think low to mid 60's is reasonable if you had done extra work to it.
The 50k and 60k market is pretty hot now.
Not many people want the expense and upkeep of the blower boat.
Good luck.

I don't know anything about them but they came about 200K off the asking price of Ms Aquadoll so I think it comes down to how marketable a boat is or isn't. A Baja with #6's and Merc 900's is a lot less common than a Nortech 50 Supercat with turbines!

It's funny that I didn't realize that my wording made it sound like I was trading in the boat, but was actually meant that I would be trading in my 15,000lb lift for a 22,000 lb lift for my new boat at the end of the week. I will not be trading in this boat, I own it and will hang onto it if I can not sell it outright.

Looks nice to me. I dont think your asking price is too high considering a typical 10% margin for negotiation. In a few years when Im ready to step up from the 25 footer I hope to come across one that clean

A 22,000 lb boat maybe? Or a 12 and 80 cases of beer? I would love to put my 4,000 lb. Searay on a 22K lift just to see if it would catch air coming up!

Yeah, going with a formula 400ss until the kids grow up, then back to real power. Boats on ebay if anyone is interested.

huskyrider 05-11-2014 04:05 PM

I'd say it's worth 50k+-
IMO the asking price is spot on
See ya

I think you are in the right ballpark on price. Looks like you have done a lot to freshen up the boat and who ever buys it will have a turn key boat to enjoy. I bought my 36 Outlaw two years ago for a similar price. Its a factory SST with 525sc motors and full hydraulic steering. Its got some cosmetic issues which I am slowly taking care of. Just had the sunpad redone this winter while the boat was sitting in Florida. Next will be the scratches in the gell and have the swim platform redone. It was a lower hour boat. The survey on my boat was about 10K higher than what I got it for. Good luck on the sale. I know the next owner will love that boat.

It has been on ebay a few times and has about 3 days left, any ideas on how to get this moving. Other than dropping the bottom out of the price? Thanks http://www.ebay.com/itm/351082745947
