Just bought 2003 33 outlaw 290 hrs with 496 ho's and having trouble getting over 4300 rpm.. 4 people, cooler, 1/4 tank fuel, running around 50 mph at 3200 rpm.. tabs down around 6-7 and drives around 2-3.. 26 bravo 1's.. any ideas where to start? Been told these run 5000 rpm no prob.. at about 4300 I'm running 63 ish. . Tps, cap rotor, plugs?? Throttle cables??

Just realized no cap, rotor
|
Drop some weight, raise the tabs to 1 and drive out to 5, your dragging a ton of tab at 6-7 if they are conventional indicators
|
Im with red. Less tab and more trim.
|
Are you shure you don't have your figures switched ?....tabs at 2-3 and drives at 6-7 sounds right.
If that's the case, 1. spark plugs 2. fuel filter ( some have an internal filter fuel pump assy, some have an in line) http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show_...ule+Components Your short about 10mph |
On my gauges, tabs indicators at top are up and at 9.. on my drives, in is at the top and at 0
|
Are you sure you have 26 b1? 3200 @ 50 is 3% slip using 25.5 p as b1s run small.
Or rpms correct? Though 63@ 4300 is about right at 9% slip. |
Easy fix, no power on 3 and 5 on starboard side. No spark. plugs all around!
