Baja Faria Tach\hourgauge question

I need your advice fellas....

I have a bad tach\hour meter in my boat. I emailed Faria and it is $125+shipping to get fixed with a 2-3 week turnaround. I can buy a white faced teleflex for $80. Which should I do? Is there a place to buy a new Faria gauge that says 'Baja" on it?

Thanks

My personal suggestion would be to replace it with a Livorsi. I'm actually hearing that Autometer is better these days though. If you go with Livorsi you could get a Vantage View gauge that hooks into the Smartcraft system on your engine. You can get a lot of information from that. I doubt you could do it for $80 though! I'm not much of a fan of the Faria gauges.

Does anyone know if I have the Gaffrig gauges and need to replace a couple, would the Livorsi match up if I got the right color ring to go with a white gauge? I think I read Livorsi bought out Gaffrig not sure it that's right. My Tach and battery gauge are broke although need to check the wiring first make sure they aren't corroded and need cleaning.

In the past there were two different companies building Gaffrig gauges and Mike Livorsi was one of them. It was a court order that Mike change the name on his product and he choose his last name. He is however allowed fix, or replace any gauge he made under the Gaffrig name. What color and size do you need, I might have something.

I'm in the same boat with my Faria Tach. I think I'm going to spend the $125 and have it rebuilt. Otherwise it's quite a bit more for a full matching set.

Thanks XT, thought I might have gotten my battery gauge working, but it's out again, I would need white if possible.

How long did it take? Or is it still out getting fixed?
