29 Baja Outlaw

I am thinking about buying a 1998 29 outlaw. Just wondering if there is anything I need to no before I buy? Pros and cons.

The 29 is a great boat with a spacious cabin. It handles well and has great lines. With twins, you should see 72-78 depending on power. It is a big for a 29. I haven't noticed any quality issues. We like the aluminum platforms more than the fiberglass swim platforms.

My old 29-- 2000 w 454 mag mpi's has almost 1100 hours and Still runs strong.

The two gripes I've witnessed were changing the impellers is tight, but you'll that on many boats in that size. The other was because of the heat in the engine bay, and that was vapor lock. There is a simple kit available to alleviate that as I understand.

Thanks for all the imput. Ended up buying a 2003 Baja 275 with a 496 mag HO. Boat has ran great but after I run it at WOT for a couple of minute the buzzer goes off. Just had it serviced and replaced the impeller housing and all gauges read good. Any ideas what this could be?

Might need to back flush the water from the t stat back to the impellor housing. Dealer had done mine just before winterizing and they had a big chunk of rubber left over.

Didn't heat up but I had a bother boat do that. Cruised fine, but the restriction caused heat to rise when rpms went above cruise.

The boat is not heating up according to the Temp gauge. It's staying on about 170. I was told it could be the water pressure sensor.

We have back flushed the system and it seems to be clean. I'm thinking the water pressure sencor is throwing a false code and it may be bad. I Hope.
