Carpet or no carpet?

I am restoring a 180 islander and the carpet is really wore and has a hole in it. I have seen some boats with no carpet just white textured floor. Under my carpet is just fiberglass. Would it be easier to put carpet back in or try and sand the floor and take that route??

I think easier to just put some nice carpet back in. XT and others would have a better opinion

I'd much rather have something like this than carpet

Ya. That what I had in mind crosset. Have u ran it in your boat or know anyone that has??

I had it in my 1998 Velocity and it held up just fine for 15 years and still looks good. It was also easy to keep clean. My new to me VR 1 has it too.

Nope, but I have some samples and it seems pretty legit. It's also the same stuff you see major manufacturers using.

The jury is still out on how it will hold up, but I glued down this foam/neoprene type stuff, grey diamond plate texture made for garage floor mats. gives a little cushion under the feet.

I'll try and get a price and some more info on it tomorrow. I appreciate the help

Cool options - seems like you would want a removable cockpit carpet over that flooring though?
