stickers
How do you remove stickers on the fiberglass with out scratching the gel coat?
Thank you for your help. JJ |
Try a heat gun and plastic razor if needed, Any residual glue when decal is off try wd40 and rub with light towel. Works well taking off all the damn warning stickers on off road toys applied on plastic and fiberglass.
Hard to describe how to do heat gun and best pay to peel off, but once you do one or two you'll get the nack. Edit in: a longer fingernail can replace plastic razor. Easy way to spot professional detailers. Usually they'll keep a longer nail on one thumb. LOL. |
Yeah, heat gun. Mineral spirits should be safe too. Just don't set it on fire!
|
Heat gun on low setting held about 1-2 feet away. Goof Off does a great job of taking off the residue.

Tap plastic has a kit for this also, say even removes pinstripes
|
if your like me and dont have a heat gun. use the old ladys blow dryer it works just as well for this case. if you dont have an old lady with a blow dryer i dont know what to tell you. brake clean or ether after wd or pblaster will take the oil out of the gel. then you will need to wax it again. like others have said. a plastic scraper or your nail works best for getting the stick started. hopefully it will come off in one piece.
if all else fails. an eraser wheel is badass. |
A grinder.....
Lol, just kidding. |
Sand blast comes right off.. Lol
As most said. Heat and blade. Then, use goo-gone gel and it comes off like butter! The gel helps stay in place. |
Thanks everyone for the valuable information.
I got it off yesterdsy, the stickers can off in one piece and the glue too Thanks for the help |
