My boat is a 28 Nordic Heat with a 525 but it has a ITS setback (1.5 ratio). I'm currently running a bravo FS 29. I'm right on the limiter and could probably spin a 30. I would think that you should be able to spin a 30 also. Keep in mind that the FS has vent holes to assist in planning.

No way he will be able to spin a 30P with the 525. I also have a Stelling Extension Box and IMCO -2 lower...so my drive height is relatively high. I can spin a 28P in stock form and could probable spin a 30P but it would be horrible...might not even get 4500 RPMs from it.

I had a 1998 25 Outlaw with a factory HP500 (Carb). Outdrive was standard Bravo 1. I think this would be pretty comparable if the X on your hull is the same. I ran a 24 Bravo 1 that I had Merc Racing lab. I achieved 5100 r's with a 71-72 mph gps top end. The mid range acceleration and holeshot was awesome. The boat came with a 25 solid hub Mirage which only turned around 4900 r's. Since the holeshot and midrange punch sucked, I didn't even bother with this prop. I was in fresh water, about 750ft above sea level. Hope this helps give you a baseline.

Sounds like the 26 Bravo 1 he has on it now is going to be the best prop. Just need to wait until spring and get some rpm and speed numbers and adjust from there.
