Baja 277 Islander performance question
 

Hi all. I am new to the forum and would like some insightful help. I am looking at a new Baja 277 islander model. What type of performance could be expected with the Merc 520 option from Baja compared to a custom EFI engine with 650-700 hp from someone like Young Perfomance Marine? Sorry for the broad and generally dumb questions. I haven't owned a boat in many years. Thanks in advance.

I doubt anyone has experience with a new 520 in a Baja. With the 650ish HP you should have a high 70 to low 80's boat. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Why don't you call Baja and ask them, to be honest I don't really understand the question. Your' first post in over 3 years is a little complicated.
