30 outlaw mods

Hey guys just bought an 08 30 outlaw with 496 hos iam going to buy any exhaust for them want to know what are the best options for these engines and what speeds will I see iam hopping to get 80 plus with headers on my old 25 outlaw with 502 mpi I had EMI thunder and I picked up around 2mph but heard there not the best for the 496 thanks for advice

CMI makes a swept back header system that has been tested to improve power. Also might want to look into a re flash of ECU for more power.

There must be someone running exhaust on a 30 outlaw that knows performance numbers

I had a 30 also the cheapest mod to do to gain a couple mph is having the props labbed I saw 78 mph on gps at sea level it woulda ran over 80

^^^^ Umm.. I saw that your had bblades work on them, but 78? The most we could get out of her last fall was 72 in a light chop.

I had an '05 30 with HO's and got 78 on speedo more than once. Didnt have GPS, but cant imagine the speed to be that far off. A 30 Outlaw with HO's should definately get better than 72 all day long..... I recall this red one, as mine was for sale at the same time!

Some of these numbers amaze me, there is a huge difference between GPS and the wish- O water meter, I know its not the same hull, but Im running 630 a side and running in the low 80's in my 33, over 200 a side more than the HO's. Cam's and cylinder heads is where the power is not exhaust, but it does add bling to the bilge.

72 is the # that the non HO's would run, as I recall

Thats way slower then it should be running how many people did you have on board and how much fuel keep in mind I was light on fuel and only one other person on board the previous owner ran a best of 79.8 on gps that was at sea level before I had the props done you should be able to run mid 70s easy BTW boat still looks beautiful!

We could have been loaded down a bit, 4 peope. I dont remember the fuel load but was under a 1/4 when I winterized it.

Yes she is a Beautiful boat, the red really stands out!!! Nate, you took great care of her. The LED's are killer!! I can't wait to see them in the water this coming summer
