looking for caliber 22 reviews

Recently sold my 1994 20ft searay and looking for a 232 or 22 baja. I just found a caliber 22 and was wondering how much deadrise they have and if they are decent in the chop, compared to other 22ft boats...my searay only had 15degrees and was a rough ride. I dont want anything bigger than 22-23ft so it will still fit in my shed

Which would you think is the better boat?
The caliber has 250 original hours.

A friend of mine had a Caliber. No windscreen; think it just had little deflectors. His had the carb 330 horse 454 and it liked to chine-walk above 55mph. It wasn't that great of a boat.

Have you looked at a Hammer? Most of them had trim tabs and bulletproof 7.4mpi's. Mid-upper 60s mph 21.5' boat. The Hammer is a 21* sit-down boat, but it is fine for inland lakes and rivers.

I have looked at the hammer, but i would prefer a windshield. I like the fact that the caliber has 23* deadrise. I run in the ocean so that is a big influence as well. The 236 has a modified 350 that was dynoed at 350hp which seems alot out of the 5.7, and has the alpha drive which i would be concerned about with that much hp. Would the modified 350 be any better on fuel than a stock 454?

You are looking at the Caliber Twilight Cruiser, which is different from the Caliber my friend had. I don't know much about that boat at all.

The 236 is a big boat for it's length. A friend of mine has one with a 502 and it runs pretty good, but mid 50's is all you will get with a stock 454. 350hp, that boat's weight, and an alpha drive seem like a recipe for disaster.

Fuel consumption is probably about the same.

Yeah that was pretty much my thoughts on the 236...I believe the bottom of the hulls are the same on the two different calibers. Do you remember how his handled in some chop?

His didn't handle well. I don't think the TC had the same bottom as a regular Caliber.

This is what he had: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baja-Caliber...m=231556680486

Ok yeah im not sure either. The swim platform looks quite similar. But with 23* deadrise the twc should ride decent for a 22ft boat i would think...
