LOL that's usually the case Mseuro... I've had it now for 2 seasons and it works out pretty nice actually especially when it's dark out or trying to find our way to some spot at LOTO.. since it keeps tracks of where we have been in the past she just keeps me on the track which is one less thing I have to look at while driving... also at night it's nice since all the light is on her side she keeps me from hitting shore and I can see the waves or other boats more easily. I would like a stereo remote on my side tho.. Maybe a fusion one next winter..

As far as the insta-trim gauge I'm going to reuse it.. I put it in the oven at 105 F for 15 mins and it came apart pretty easily. I have a few LED's that are out on it but otherwise it works fine so I'm going to replace the LED brick with new green LED brick and repaint the rim Yellow to match the other gauges and put it back together.

Gauge apart:

Backside of gauge.. Just need to desolder the led brick.

New LED brick. Ordered it from Digi-key. The part # is LTA-1000G it cost me $13 for 4 of them shipped to my door in case I mess the first 2 up I'll have spares. Also it'll be nice that they are green since everything else is green on my boat.

I'm not sure my buddy has one and it rattles horribly with the subs something I definitely don't want..

Another project I'm currently working on is removing the yellowing from the compass.. lots of sanding.

Why not just replace it with digital?

And I rarely use 5200 on anything. 4200 has no difference in sealing capabilities. The 5200 just has more holding power since it's a "permanent" bond as they call it.

Besides they turn yellow, even when you use the supplied cover when not running . Factory would not return emails and Rep at boat show ignored me. Never buy another product made by them. POS. And POS company!

Looking good. Heck, I would have painted the compass cover/base yellow since it wants to yellow on its own in the sun!.
