guys.. I have been out of the boat game for some time.. I had a 06 OL 23 and loved it. I did a lapped prop and picked up some nice MPH..

well my question is this. i'm looking purchasing at a 2005 30OL with 496HO and 28 props. I have been on this boat several times and she moves out.. we have see 78 on GPS.. the second boat i'm looking at is a 2006 33OL with the same power plants.. what do you guys think the 33 will run and which is the better boat?

IMO, the 33 OL will give you a better ride but might be a tic slower........all depends where you boat, are they set up with XR's or B1's with stock lowers ??

Most likely X drives on either boat. Baja installed many 496 H.O. and X Drive pkgs.

The 33OL with 496HOs will run lower 70s. I have friends that had/have both boats with 496s.

They are pretty much the exact same cabin, but the 33 has the monster cockpit. They are both very, very hard to work on, without removing the whole rear seat, and even then some spots are still hard to reach. If you plan to do longer runs on either, be aware that they both have very windy cockpits. This tires out the driver and passengers more than people realize. Either are fine for shorter trips and hanging out while anchored/rafted, etc. etc.

33, so you don't get a case of "three foot itis" before next summer. Especially if you're going to run it in the Pacific.

33 all the way. I had a 302 then a 342 (same hulls 30 & 33)

The 33 will run 72-74 depending on fuel load. Its really a no brainer. The 33 handles a good bit better. The back seat can be made modular so you can pull it out in 3 minutes. Then they are significantly easier to work on. I wrote a thread on here somewhere on OSO about taking it out, just put some 1x1 aluminum L bracket behind it and it slides out like its on rails. The picture is just to show how it slides up and out then you just stand it up. Probably weighs 60 lbs.

man if you could track down that thread that would be awesome..

I moved over to the East Coast now, so I will be boating on the bay..

1. Just put some 1x1 aluminum L bracket behind it
2. Remove the screws along the bottom
3. Take the screws out f the sides (access thru speaker holes)
4. Pull the armrests in a little and slide it out.
You're done....

Plus the 33 OL was never constructed as a liner boat and the 30 was, so take a close look see.
