Okay humpers, just thought I would update you on our little Central Ohio Shootout last weekend. Some of you may have checked out the thread in the main section relating to this. Well ther were about 30-40 boats, lots of cats, and I was the biggest Baja (24 Outlaw) and ran well. Best I hit was 73.1 gps. Otran all but a few vees. Got lots of comments about "Damn,........that baja ran strong....." type of stuff, so mark one up for the cheap Yugo type boats we run:D :D Thought you might like to know we were well represented. Also thought you might like to know that I am SERIOUSLY considering a blower for next season. Need to figure out how much modification of the seat needs to be done first. See other thread. OK Allan, you must have had one to many by the time we (my wife and I) pulled up to you. I thought a 272 was bigger than a 24:confused: :D Oh well...I will say that 24 does run strong. I wish I could have ran beside you so I know what I run on GPS. I just had Darin @ Houston Prop lab my prop and I seen a difference on my speedo (better), but I know it is off some, so I guess I should have hung out longer to see what I really ran on GPS.

What time did you head home?

This Checkmate was a serious sleeper. There was a 29' Fountain in the 90's too, single big block.

A bat out of hell was that check mate!! were Packinair was sayin they were doing 75 next to an eliminator and that little red checkmate just flew past!

That single enging fountain goes so fast due to his 600ci lingenfelter vette race engine... had to de tune then he put a NOS kit on??? why de tune then put nitrous on??

Don't know why. He has a lot of money to go around. You ought to see his wife, wow! She spends the money too...:D

I think I heard he owns a used car dealership. When you went over to him, did you see us ask if we could get a pic of under his hatch?? he open it a foot and then shut it real quick! like he could even compete with some other boats out there!!

Yeah, I want to do the blower thing, seeing as it looks like I will be in this boat for atleast 1 more season, probably two. I was thinking today I will need about 110-120 more HP to break 80GPS. That means I will have a total of 630-640, and about 50 ft/lbs/tq more repectively. That should do it, sound right to you big power 24 guys???? That tq number increase is the important one.

as far as faster vees, the Checkmate is the obvious, and there were lots of cats. But that Fountain, I don't know man. Unless he just was cruising when I raced him, he went past me at MAYBE, MAYBE 80. I was doing 72ish most likely and he didn't pull me by much. Either he was just taking it easy (how many guys do that when racing at a shootout) or that boat is 90 on the SPEEDO with a hurricane behind it. I'd say he was solid 78 GPS, maybe a few ticks more....80ish. My ACCURATE .02 :D :D :D

That's fine and all, but how come he would not show you under the hatch and then he sqeeks past me at 80ish. I don't give a s*** either way, it just seems like this is one of the "10 miles per hour rule" boats.......:rolleyes:

It is all anodized red blue and chrome. i remember seeing it at the gas dock last year, Just once got a pic of it in the .324 seconds it was open.

Where were you today?????!!!!!???? New speed record, 75.7 gps. DOwn river though and it may have been a spike. Was seeing mid 74's all day. Only 5 boats showed, you really did not miss much, later:D

Fudge Packin (packn air) told me it was next weekend. He will say it wasnt him, but the morgans!!!
