Glove box screws on 29 outlaw

I did not realize the glove box was actually molded into the dash panel on the 29 outlaw. So I tried to take the two screws on the inside of the glove box out thinking I could remove the glove box to gain access to my stereo. That didn't work, the screws kept turning but only loosened a little. Now I have lose screws that will not tighten. I assume that the ends of the screws go through the inner panel and into the locker on that side? To help hold the whole dash panel in place? It looks like there is a molded foam insert with vinyl over it on the inside of the locker. So I'm thinking these screws must have nuts on the ends and the nuts are now spinning with the screw. Can I easily remove these panels on inside of the locker to get to the backs of these screws? Anyone have experience with these?

Dave from XT innovations told me the screws were put in there just to help hold the dash panel in place while it was being bonded to the boat. So I have not worries. Not structural.

I've reached through the cupholder before to access the back of the stereo. :)
