Default 2006 35' Outlaw Re-powering

Has anyone re-powered the 35 outlaw with 565ci 650Hp? Also using "X" drives? Looking to re-power my 35' Outlaw and looking at the 565ci 650Hp Motors and wanting to get advice. Will be upgrading my 496HO's.

Let me know if you are going to sell your 496's... I'm in the market for an engine... I'd prefer a 500efi, or 525efi (even a 502MPI) but might consider a 496 if the price is right.

Im not a real knowledgeable drive guy, but from many posts and readings, I think you are going to have to beef up your gears in the Bravo X, or get into the XR series at minimum with that kind of power. Mine came stock with Bravo XR Sportmaster drives, matted to my 525efi's. I always wanted Blue motors, and got them. My 30 Outlaw had HO's. I can tell you that things just get more finicky once you leave black motors. I love my 525's, but following the book, they are a fair amount more in maintenance. oil change every 25hours, mechanical fuel pump fluid change, etc.....

Thanks for the info Martin. I understand the transition from EFI will be tricky also. Any comments on that?

Are buying 565's or building them.........imo you're going to need to be in the 700++hp range to run in the 90's with you boat.....what are you budgeting $$ for 2 new engines

I have a few quotes now ranging from 30k to 45k, but possible to get some return with selling my 496's. I would like to budget at 30k out of pocket.

Not sure I follow...transition from EFI? or to EFI? Either way, it was seamless to me coming out of 496HOs in the 30 Outlaw. For the dollars you are talking about, have you considered maybe just doing the Raylar kit for the 496HOs if you want to gain some power and keep some cash for your next upgrade? Our Baja's are not going to be the fastest out there given weight and design, but I guess its only money as they say....
