Engine serial number

Anyone know if the engine serial number would be listed anywhere other that the top cover? I have the transom and drive # but the serial # is missing.

take a look above the water pump where it bolts to the block, right side, I rebuilt some 500 efi's and they were stamped there.

Merc serial number plate will be on the starboard side right above the starter. If engine has been rebuilt most machine shops throw them out not knowing they mean anything.

I couldn't find the serial numbers on my 302 either. Eventually I found my way to Brunswick Boat Group. I think they have all the pre-2008 Baja information (maybe). They were able to look-up the serial number(s) based on the hull id. This was a couple of years ago, but maybe they could help you as well.

Good luck!

If the engine was rebuilt it’s probay gone. Machine shops don’t think anything about them.
