Coversearch.com

Just received my cover for the H2X that I had ordered from Coversearch.com. Fits good (I ordered the "custom-fit") in Sharksin. I"m happy except it took a lot longer for them to get it to me than they were supposed to. The color is just a little lighter than what I had expected, but is close enough for me. Total cost with tie down straps, a center pole, and freight was just over $363. I know others here are considering covers, and just relaying my experience with Coversearch.

covers

I just got a new one for my 29 Outlaw from IBoats, it was a sunbrella, it took about a month to get, but it was worth it, perfect fit. I was a little reserved at first when I ordered it because custom fit through mail order seemed a little risky without measuring the boat first. Was I wrong, they did a good job.

pwam1 12-13-2002 11:32 AM

I was initially told by coversearch I would have it in 12-14 days. When it didn't show, I called them and was told that it was 12-14 working days, not total days, but that one of their machines was broke and they couldn't make it until they got the machine fixed. After that, though, it showed up exactly on the day it was supposed to. I think it was about 31/2 weeks or so. The cover was worth the wait, though. I am very happy with the cover, even if the delivery time was kinda funky.

Shooter 12-13-2002 03:49 PM

my poor boat is getting snowed on out on the lift...

Shooter 12-20-2002 04:19 PM

called to find out a "mix up" with the manufacturer, I won't get it until January.

This is friggin killing me

Shooter 01-19-2003 09:27 AM

aaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!

Still no cover and my baby has an inch of snow on it (ahh won't hurt it).

They said it would ship 1st week of Jan. Called me last week - wait, I called them and they said the manufacturer decided to tale an extended sabbatical.

It will ship 1/20 according to "Covergirl". I really hope it's woth the wait. I'm thinking of asking them to throw somthing my way for the piss-poor service I have gotten. If I knew it would have taken this long the first conversation, I would have gone elsewhere.

I would really think twice if any of you guys want a cover from them.

just purchased mine for my 02 25 outlaw, subrella ordered on 1-18 will see when it gets here

Shooter 01-26-2003 02:49 PM

Well,

Received the cover 1/23, 2 months and a day fr4om when I ordered it. Looks OK and fits pretty good. I have a windscreen instead of the windsheild so not terribly snug up top but good overall.

Couldn't put it on until tiday, was almost like spring 35 degrees.

Did not get much of a response after my last "you guys are idiots" email, wonder why.

It's a good cover just don't hold your breath waiting for it.

pwam1 01-27-2003 09:46 PM

When I was originally checking into covers, several companies offered what appeared to be the same cover, only under a different name.
When I questioned Coversearch about the delay in delievering they simply blamed it on the manufacturer. (I think the co. was called Hurricane).
I guess the lesson to be learned here is to allow plenty of time for delilvery, at least if it's made by this company.

BigDaddy96 01-28-2003 12:22 PM

I got my new cover last summer from Coverquest.com. Not sure if it is the same company or not. Mine was sharkskin and fits perfect. I think it took around 3 weeks to get. I seem to remember that the cover was shipped directly from the manufacturer. Good experience overall. Just my .02

How much are you guys paying for these covers, and for what size boats?

pwam1 01-30-2003 01:59 PM

I paid $363 for the cover, tie down straps, a nice center pole and freight.

pwam1 01-30-2003 02:14 PM

I just went back and checked, and the company I bought from was Coverquest.com, not Coversearch.com.
Sorry guys, guess I need to lay off the hard stuff!

Mine is a custom for a 302. Came with drawties and free shipping. $355.00 for blue Sharkskin. Good cover and value, just the wait of ages.

canvasboy 02-05-2003 10:56 PM

don't any of you guys support your local businesses or are there none available in your areas?

TEAMBAJA 02-06-2003 10:34 AM

I have one for a 33' Outlaw, 272, and 232 if anyone is interested.

I had actually recieved 2 different quotes from businesses in Osage Beach that were much higher. I just went with what my budget would allow at the time.

PM me your info so I can keep it for next time or pass it along to friends.

Sure, canvasboy, I absolutely try to do business locally when I can. There's even a local shop that I do a fair amount of business with that treats me right.
But, his price estimate for a similar cover was at least $600.00, and could be more depending on the material.
I paid $363 for the cover I have. That is just too much difference in price for me to pay, just to have it done locally. I don't know how they can do it so much cheaper, but as long as the product is acceptable, it doesn't make sense to me to pay $250 more to my localo guy instead of getting it over the internet.

davesoutlaw 02-06-2003 08:49 PM

Just received my cover today 2-6-03 orderd it on 1-18-03 to bad cant try it out the boat is in locked storage about 100 miles away

A few questions.
1. Team Baja. I have a '98 272 w/ a windshield. Is the one you have made for a windshield? Is it new? What style (sharksskin, sunbrella etc.) Price?
2. Team Baja. Blake Elkin is trying to get in touch w/ you. Check TBM site. How do you acquire all this good Baja merch? Are you an employee?
3. David L. What happened Wednesday? Didn't see you at NIOC mtg. Are you interested in joining NIOC?

I was just about to post a thread about covers and saw this. Good info. We're looking for a full mooring cover for a Sport 240, wondering where to buy and how much to expect to spend. Our dock is on a river with alot of pine trees around. Is one material better than another ?

hey teambaja, how much for the one for the 33o/l,and what color is it

mikepol 11-24-2003 01:05 PM

I just received my coversearch cover and it fits great. I agree, it was a bit misleading saying 10 day leadtime... 10 day is actually 2 weeks, but it was worth the wait. Note: Anyone looking at Sunbrella, I would highly recommend.
