Labbing for 302

Hey Guys,

I'm about to contact Darin at Houston Prop. to clean up and lab my Mirage 25 plus's that found some crab traps before I bought it last summer. Who out there has a 302 and had similar props labbed. I hear HP will stand behind their props but I want to avoid back and forths. I'd rather get them right the 1st time. I have had Bravo 1's labbed before on blown singles but this is my first twin. I have 502 MPI Mags.

Any 302 owners out there... I would guess a 29 Outlaw would be somewhat similar.

My boat is similar to yours in terms of size, weight, and hull. Bronson Hill did mine and I'm happy. I was able to go from unlabbed 25's to labbed 27's which of coarse made me faster. Lots of back and forth with Hill though. Mainly because they made me try 4 blade props before the 3 blade.

Can see 78mph on gps with the 27's (496HO's)

Had a 97 29 Outlaw with 502s 27 mirage plus was the way to go put in 500efis 27 mirage still the best but never had either one labbed. Where are your rpm with your 25s, 4 blades are always slower more blades more drag. Now i have a 33 with labbed mercury props that is my suggestion no back and forth and does what they should, on the down side if you even look at a crap trap with a mercury labbed prop it will ding it they are very very thin.

I am turning about 4800 or so depending on the day. The gauge says 77 - yeah right. No crab traps by me in Jersey, just some mud. Boat runs prettty good with the 3 blades. I know the 4's have a more poisitive effect on cruise, but as long as I don't stomp on the throttle, no problems.

I'm used to blower motor and I have stock now and want to keep it that way so I don't want to get a slower prop if I don't have to.

If your only turning 4800 now it might be a stretch trying to go up to a 27. With stock 25's I was turning 5100+. With the Hill 27's I'm still turning 5000+.

Shooter, I have a 29 Outlaw with 454 Mags. I had my 25 pitch 3 blades labbed at York Propellers. Because of my higher x, I was already pulling 5,000+ rpms. He cupped, repitched, and blue printed my props to a strong 26 pitch. I now pull 5100 rpm's and 2-3 mph more.

I agree with 29 outlaw if your tach is correct I don't think you could pull 27s labbing the 25s should increase speed and give you aprox 300 rpm.
