What was your very first boat?
I imagine this could be interesting to find out what some of your first boats were. I imagine there were some Bayliners and Thompsons as first boats.
Mine was a 14 1/2' 1995 Checkmate Jetboat with a 120 Sportjet engine. It would beat the holy hell out of you on Lake Erie, but was the ultimate boat to have on Lake Cumberland in the coves. |
21Ft Crownline with a 350 mag.
|
Baja 210 sport/454 mag
|
my first ride in a boat was at 5 months old. i basically grew up driving my parents' boats, but my first performance boat of my own was a '98 272 Baja 502MPI.

1980 Bayliner Eagle 1950
260 Mercruiser. This was before all the "clone boat" Bayliners were made. Had alot of fun with that boat, had a few different engine combo's in it. The biggest fun was outrunning people in the performance boats (water conditions permitting) Sold it to a friend of mine, he put a 415 hp 406 SBC in it, it ran over 80, and faster than the 91' bandit with a 502, that I replaced it with :o  Saw the old boat just last fall, been repowerd back down to a more "sane" level. So yes, I did own a Bayliner, but then again, I get **** for owning a Baja. jt |
19' Century with a 350.
Beat the living **** out of you. It did make the girls t*ts bounce tho. |
A 14' aluminum jonboat that I scratch built from scrap metal and plywood. I strapped on a 1962 9.9HP Evinrude and that thing would move at a blistering 6 to 8 mph. Man, I was stylin' :D:p

I was very fortunate to have two....
A 16' Coleman w/ twin paddles..... what seemed like a 5 ft. jonboat with a trolling motor.... Went with a friend to the river one weekend in his 78 20' IMP and ended up on a sandbar full of T-Bar's...... told my wife that the type of nature she liked sucked compared the the nature I liked and the last float trip was just that, THE LAST..... had a 83 20' Mark Twain before the week was out and was on the ramp when it dawned on me I didn't know the first thing about a boat....left the plug out (almost sunk), and figured that power trim thingie out in less than a hour of shooting water in the air. Things are better 20 yrs. later |
1991 Century 21ft open bow. Good Boat.

1976 Taylor 18 foot Jet Boat. Four seater powered by 455 Olds with Headers and Berkley jet pump.
One of the fastest on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springss, Arkansas where I'm from. It would run around 65 MPH. No GPS back then! LOL:rolleyes: |

I'll have to post mine soon....... |

Baja 208 with a 350 Magnum!

I owned the same 1997 Hammer 2 times then a 1997 24 outlaw, now a 1999 25 outlaw
|
1986 Bayliner Cuddy-22' Mercruiser 470!
Man, I miss that thing... sometimes. I cared less if it got bumps, scratches, nicks, and anything else that would make you say, "Oh ****!" Taught the wife how to drive a boat using this tug. Sure am gald too, if you know what I mean!
That little four cylinder packed 170 HP and it was great on gas! The days of being young and careless with extra money and a bayliner-heck, thought I had it made. Then wife, kids, and everything else:drool:  |
95 14' Baja Blast

Ha Ha, Stepping up to a twin is a tough jump, and I try not to keep the same boat more than one season, I'm hard on them, and buy them as investments, sometimes have had 2 at a time, but when you find a good deal you have to snag it up;)

I was raised around marinas all my life. A lot of wood Centurys and Chris Crafts and a 18' SK flat bottom drag!!!
My fist boat I owned: 1972 23' Fleetwing Eagle (Like a John Allmon) with a 215E (ford 351 motor). The thing acutually had a dry clutch everything actuated electrically. A button dropped it in forward another for reverse!!!! Given to me free. Only the horn worked. Redid interior, paint, rebuilt the drive. Learned how to do boat mechanics on that one. Always got me home (sometimes w/o reverse). Definately my fondest memories of boating. |
2001 baja h2x my first one i still ahve it lookng to move on to a outlaw.
|
1989 Landau 17' fiberglass bowrider. Bought it at an estate auction without a test drive. Boat was 7 years old with only 51 hours on it. Sold it two years later for a little less than I paid with only 89 hours.

I don't have any good pictures digital yet. My I have been doing a few cosmetic upgrades to the boat, & was waiting before more pictures. Re-painted and striped the trailer last year. Put on the "Outlaw" decal across the fairing, etc. |
Back in 1959, 12' flat bottom wooden dory with 7 1/2 HP McCullough (the one with the built in bilge pump).
I was out on the lake one day (as a wee lad of 7) and a big knot popped out  Bearly made it back. My mother ended up making a planter out of it:D |
