Hi All
Nice Forum. Anyone here from the upper Ill/Iowa river rats? People really like their Baja's here. Got a 97 32 outlaw that I get to play with. Anyone know of any coming events for the Quad Cities, Clinton or Dubuque area?

Welcome to OSO. Notched Baja ??? Did you cut steps in your Baja??????:D :D :D Wardey

No didn't do it myself. The transom was notched at Baja as a one of a kind. According to Hawkeye Boats, it was the only one ever done. At least on a 32 outlaw. Came with boxes, drives raised 2.5", blueprinted bottom and 525sc's. It was Baja's poker run boat for 97.

Thanks for the hearty welcome. To answer some questions. The 525sc are pretty much gone in the boat. The original owner who I bought from had them at up to 460ci with 750hp and drives beefed up. It would run in the mid 90's that way. As part of the sale the blowers came off and the engines were freshened and taken back to natural aspirated. The engines turned 425hp a side now (still 8.2-1 comp) and runs in the mid 70's. I'm putting some 250 blowers back on it. It will keep them under the swim deck and should run apprx 600hp and mid 80's. Mid 70's is too slow for this boat.
Don't know the guy with the 302. We do a lot of boating around the Princeton beach area of the mississippi. I will try to get to the Dubuque poker run this year. Where is a good place to stay and dump the boat in there? It's been a good ride so far. I did a Hawkeye Boats poker run in the Ozarks last september and bent the sticks forward for almost the whole thing. 200 gallons later that is! :) |
